“You and I, unselfed, will be together you and I”
About the Piece: The Lovers is a celebration of sensual love, perfect for an engagement, marriage, or anniversary gift. When a mysterious stranger left their collection of images of indian printed fabrics on my worktable, it got me thinking about a woman I know who divides her time between Whidbey Island where she lives, and India, where her beloved lives. Their love story of separation and reunion over many years inspired this ode to the delights of love in the intimate inner spaces of our homes and hearts.
I imagined that the lovers stood side by side to remove their shoes, leaving them at the threshold as they stepped together into the vibrant inner sanctum where they became “unselfed” in one another’s arms.
