As one of three sisters, I grew up loving it when my Grandfather would call us “the three graces.” (This is why my studio name is Second Grace Studio!) This piece celebrates a version of the three graces that has a wonderful vibe, like poking through your grandmother’s jewelry box filled with discolored old pearls, bits of paste jewelry and fragments of childhood memories. And - suprise! - it all folds up neat and tidy inside the chess set that serves as the box!
Materials: chess box; pearls, lots and lots of faux pearls; vintage photograph of three sisters; assorted broken jewelry bits; glazed clay wing; vintage soap packaging; scarab charm; clay flower; assorted music and poetry papers; three clam shells; feathers; pressed violets; alphabet beads
