What Love Does

$325.00

What Love Does reflects on how the experience of new love takes us out of the humdrum regularity of life and spins us into a distinctly new kind of space with our beloved.

The lovely shell images that dominate the piece are beautiful, but each one stands in lonely isolation.  Yes, the routine is occasionally broken up by something different - a real shell, a button, a snap - but the pattern is clear and unrelenting and solitary.

And then!  Along comes a connection between two creatures of the same tribe (sweet little dancing octopi in this case), and a new kind of space suddenly opens up.  A space with a little extra sparkle (hence the gold foil centers I added to the octopi), where isolation is relieved by connection and stillness gives way to movement and the sweetness of play.

So, yeah, that's what love does.
